Mass Effect 2  (ME2) is an action role-playing video game developed by BioWare, and released in 2010. ME2 is the second installment of the Mass Effect series and a sequel to the original Mass Effect. The game takes place within the Milky Way galaxy during the 22nd century, where humanity is threatened by an insectoid species known as the Collectors.

BioWare continues the chronicle of Commander Shepard, the poster character of humans in the sci-fi world of Mass Effect. The sequel begins with a relatively ominous game, where you and your spaceship are blown to pieces. Cerberus-said to be the bad guy in the first game, recovered Shepard’s body, and spent two years and a truckload of money to resurrect the commander. Cerberus and Sheppard have common enemies, and they have a task to give you-save the universe from the enemy alien race Reavers in the first game. If you think about it, the main story is not much different from the first game. The only change in the sequel is that your character will form an alliance with Cerberus, not an alliance.

The biggest feature of Mass Effect 2 (ME2) is that you can import your character from the first part and continue to use it in the sequel. Unfortunately, the experience level of the imported character will be reset from the beginning, and you will almost start from scratch.

Because Cerberus spends a lot of time and money putting together your pieces, they almost own your ass, and players have no choice to work for people who have fought with him in the past. It is gratifying that this is to prevent the greater benefit of an epic cosmic disaster. In addition, it may be worse, you can work for Geth. Despite the disaster at the end of the first game, the existence of Grim Reaper has not been officially accepted; so Cerberus is preparing to wage a secret war, and Sheppard is their recruit. In the first game, Reapers used Saren as their pawns, and this time it was an elusive alien of the race called Collectors.

Most of the content of the game is to build a team to attack the collector base. The best thing about Mass Effect 2 is that you can form an ultimate villain team from the entire universe. You can recruit up to 11 members for your team; however, this seems a bit excessive, because there are not enough members in the core game to effectively accommodate all the characters.

Recruitment tasks and branch tasks for each member are short and quick. The plot line lacks steady development like the first game. The advantage is that the climax of “Mass Effect 2” is more dramatic, with multiple possible outcomes. The sequel inherits the fascinating storytelling of the first game, all thanks to powerful voice acting, decent scripts, the use of dynamic shots and interactive editing. Even though the narration in Mass Effect 2 is better than the first game, there is still a lot of room for improvement. Visually, due to the improvement of texture and lighting, this work is much richer than the previous work, which further strengthens the expressiveness of the story.

There are several major changes in the combat system, such as the use of ammunition systems instead of weapon heating, and the introduction of automatic healing, that is, the most commonly used medic-gel (healing items) is used to resurrect fallen party members. Mass Effect 2 has also completely eliminated weapon mastery, grenades and mines. An important function has been added to the weapon system, that is, heavy weapons, which can effectively reverse the situation. Unfortunately, the bunker system is still unstable, and AI-controlled party members are still bad at finding bunkers.
